Statistics of the University of Portharcourt School of Basic studies to Year one (1) admission list for the 2017/2018 academic session.
It is no longer breaking news that the University of Portharcourt recently released her 2017/2018 Basic to year one admission list two days ago. The list came in as a surprise to many but not to me. One noticeable thing about the admission list remains the fact that individual candidates earned their admission slot (I meant, the score matches their result).

Here is my analysis from the five most competitive departments/Faculties as regards number of candidates offered admission in Uniport basic 2017:
Medicine And Surgery: Forty (40) candidates were offered admission into the department of Medicine and Surgery. I am a bit worried because there may be lesser space available to accomodate candidates that will be offered admission via the 2017 merit admission list.
Engineering: About one hundred and thirty nine persons were offered admission into the Faculty of Engineering. This includes departments like : Chemical,Mechanical,Electrical,Petroluem,Environmental and a host of other departments under the faculty.More candidates might be admitted here since the faculty has not taken enough persons yet.
Nursing: Fifteen candidates were successfull offered provisional admission into Nursing. There should be extra slot for Post UTME candidates that performed better in the just concluded CBT exam anyway but note that Nursing does not admit many candidates.
Pharmacy: One hundred and eight candidates were offered admission into the department of pharmaceutical science. There should be a little or more room for extra candidates from the Post UTME.
Sciences: A total number of six hundred and fifty seven persons were offered admission into the Faculty of Science.There is more space for new persons.

That i can not say. But carefully read up the analysis made so far

but can you give the range of number admitted for MBBS
If you are talking about the basic admission list, i think you can personally go through it or spell out the department instead of using ACRONYMS
Will basic release second list
I really doubt that.
