For those that will be interested in applying for the 2017/2018 NNPC/Total National Merit Scholarship for undergraduates of Tertiary institutions, here are some of the important updates i would love you to be aware of.
Requirements Before Applying for NNPC/Total National Merit Scholarship:
In order for candidates to qualify for consideration, the applicants must meet the below requirements:
- Applicants must have proof of A-Level or Equivalent certificate (For Direct Entry students)
- Applicants must be a certified and confirmed 100 or 200 level studen as per the period of application.
- Must Show proof of SSCE or equivalent.
- Must have a copy of his/her UTME score.
- Have Proof of admission letter form the University and Matriculation number as well.
- Above all, must be a registered full time undergraduate in any reconized and certified Nigerian institution.

Candidates That Fall Within The Below Should Not Apply:
- Students with less than 200 score in UTME
- Students with less than 2.50 CGPA of 5-point scale, or equivalent
- 300 level students and above need not apply
- Current beneficiaries of similar awards from the oil industry need not apply.
Deadline
Application deadline is on the 31st October, 2017.Don’t wait for the end of the month before you apply. Delay is dangerous.

Application Procedure can be seen below:
- Personal Information: Applicants should Enter their name, date of birth and permanent home address Upload their recent passport photograph.
- Contact Information:You are also expected to enter a valid email and mobile phone information.
- Origin: Enter your state and local government of origin data. You are required to upload a certificate or proof of origin from your local government or state.
- University Information: Select your university, course and year of study. You will be required to upload your JAMB/University admission letter.
- Result Information: Input your JAMB score or CPGA. You are required to upload your JAMB statement of result and university CPGA. For year two medical students, your JAMB score suffices.
- Review Application: Review your application ensure all fields have been correctly entered. Upload all the documents required:
- Recent Passport Photograph
- Certificate or Proof of Origin
- Senior Secondary Certificate of Education (SSCE)
- UTME result
- JAMB/University Admission Letter
- 1st Year Result showing CGPA
- Conclusion: Attest that all info given is true. Accept terms and condition. On screen alert will confirm that you have successfully completed the application. You will receive an email to confirm this too.
Examination Date:
- Selection tests will hold on December 2, 2017 at designated centers nationwide which will be communicated to shortlisted candidates only.
- Also note that candidates will fully bear the cost transportation to test venue as no reimbursement shall be made.
- It is very important that candidates choose a test center that is nearest to them.
