• These are the criteria for 2017 admission into any Nigerian institution according to JAMB

Recently, the Joint Admission and Matriculation board (JAMB) released the requirements for admission into any institution for the 2017/2018 academic session. The board, headed by Prof Is-haq stated that the only candidates who meet the O’level and A’level  and other criteria benchmarked by the different institutions would be offered admission this year.

According to the JAMB registrar, having a higher score or scoring above the cut off marks does not guarantee admission but makes the candidates worthy or eligible for admission consideration.It is not UTME that qualifies the person, but his/her O level that does.

He cited an example, in his words “That is why you can go from here to UK, you can go to Ghana, Uganda, Republic of Benin, nobody ask you of your UTME, they ask for your O level because by law it is the school cert that qualifies you not JAMB,”
